FITCHBURG – ACTION Community Health Center recently received a $1,000 grant from the Walmart Community Grant Program. These grants are awarded by local Walmart stores to various non-profits, based on community impact and need.
ACTION will use these funds to purchase healthy, fresh food, such as fruits and vegetables, along with non-perishables for clients of the drop-in center. The drop-in center is located within ACTION Community Health Center at 130 Water Street in Fitchburg. The drop-in center is open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday through Friday and serves approximately 200 people each week. It provides a place for people to come in out of the cold, enjoy health snacks, and connect with healthcare providers in a comfortable and familiar setting.
