We welcome Dr. Mohamed Ilshahuome, Dr. Aleena Shahiryar, and Kimberly Thornton, LICSW to our staff.
Dr. Ilshahuome began his dental career at the University of Bengazi in Libya, where he earned a Bachelor’s in Dental Surgery (BDS – equivalent to DDS) and pursued advanced specialty training with a concentration in Oral Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons, Dublin, Ireland and New York University College of Dentistry; a Master of Science in Clinical Research at the New York… University College of Dentistry; and Doctor of Dental Medicine at the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Ilshahuome has five years experience in private practice and several years teaching in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery departments at the University of Benghazi and the New York University College of Dentistry. He will be caring for dental patients at the Fitchburg site.
Dr. Shahiryar is CHC’s new dental site director at our Fitchburg Community Health Center. Most recently she was the Lead Dentist at Bluebonnet Dental Care in Hattiesburg, MS and has previous experience as Administrator and General Dentist Practitioner at Medicenter Hospital in Karachi, Pakistan. Dr. Shahiryar completed her Postgraduate Residency Training at the University of Tennessee, College of Dentistry in Memphis, TN where she also pursued several years of clinical and postdoctoral research. Dr. Shahiryar received her BDS from Baqai Dental College, Karachi, Pakistan. She is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, and the American Dental Education Association.
Ms. Thornton is our new Integrated Behavioral Health Provider and will be working alongside our Fitchburg medical staff to help patients who might need behavioral health support. Ms. Thornton has returned to the region where she launched her social work career and has deeply rooted experience as a Residential Clinician, Intensive Care Coordinator, and In-home Therapy Clinician. Most recently she served as a Case Manager/Therapist at Beech Brook in Pepper Pike, OH. Ms. Thornton received her Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor, MI.
